The GAUS Institute – Foundation for new technologies, innovations and knowledge transfer handed over a donation to the Union of Blind Persons from Bitola. The donation consists of computer equipment (10 laptops, printer, network equipment) and dedicated software for blind people (adapted to the Macedonian language). The funds for the donation are provided by the NATO Charity Bazaar and the GAUS Institute’s own funds. The handover ceremony was also attended by the Head of the NATO Mission in Skopje, Navy Captain Gorazd Bartol, who also gave his address. In addition to Mr. Bartol, Prof. Dr. Igor Nedelkovski, President of the Board of the GAUS Institute Foundation and Vlado Dimitrovski, President of the Union of Blind Persons from Bitola. A presentation of the use of the equipment and software was made by Vladimir Drakalski, M.Sc., from the GAUS Institute, and Mr. Zoran Sofronijevski, a blind person, who demonstrated independent work on a computer with the help of the donated equipment and software. The event aroused great interest among blind people from Bitola, as well as among the general public and the media.
